During the period of Turkish domination, in the beginning of each year all the residents were meeting, in order to elect the potentates or the elders, which were the lords of village.

  1. Tax collection
  2. The land  preservation from foreign trespassers

  4. The determination of the harvest opening day.
  5. The hearing of cases with diversity of views about succession rights.
  6. The punishment of the outlaws.
  7. The appointment of subordinate authorities

The elders offered their services without payment for their services. They usually, came from rich families and their service last a year In case they made abuse of their administrative authority or they did not execute their duties they were being deposed from the other members of authority.
The village’s farms were registered in a big book, the cadastre. Depending on the number of farms that someone had, he paid accordingly his tax portion to Turk tax collectors.
Depending on their incomes, the residents were separated in categories: first sojourner, second sojourner, third sojourner.
If an epidemic broke out the diseased were closed in cabins beyond the village.
Even if they died, were buried in the cabins that lived.
