The findings from the ancient era, which were discovered at Limenas (the seaport of Mesta), testify the existence of pottery workshops. These workshops created a tradition that lasted until the beginning of the 20th century. The ceramic products traveled in distant places. This great trade activity was well known.
Traveler Stravon reports the existence of a second seaport in the region. According to Stravon and from later sources, possibly this port was located at the Avlonia bay or the Salagona bay. Both bays are located south of Mesta village. |
