The period afterwards the revolution until the release (1912)
 

In 1912 the Greek army releases Macedonia and the Hypiro and afterwards the General Staff of Army decides the release of islands of Aegean Sea. They had preceded energies of various natives of Chios, that they had come in contact with Prime Minister Eleutherio Venizelo, in order to ask him his help in order to be released.
The Greek armada with admiral the brave Pavlo Kourounioti, (born in Idra) assume the responsibility of the islands released. He firstly released Limnos, afterwards Thassos, Imbros, Samothrace, Psara and Lesvos on 8th of November. On 11  November 1912 the Greek armada (3 cruisers “Macedonia”, “Esperia”, “Arkadia”, two destroyers “New Generation”, “Lightning” and 3 transports “Patris”, “Sapfo”, “Erietta” with 2500 soldiers) reaches outside from Chios harbour. The natives of Chios receive the army cheerfully and sure that this time they will accomplish to send away the Turkish occupation.
By the cruiser “Macedonia” landing in the harbour a delegation, and goes to negotiate the distribution of island. The military governor of island Zichny Bey denies he grants him because he was calculating help from the Asia Minor, he declares that he will be defended Chios until the end. Thus afterwards the refusal of Turks the Greek soldiers, 3 infantry battalions and mountainous artillery, they were landing in Kontari of Chios (a region of airport) with head colonel Nikolao Delagrammatika. The first dead men from the Greek army is a fact and these are Emmanouil Pothitos and Ioannis Chrysoloras. The next day the Greek army enters in the city of Chios. The Turks retreat and go to Korakari (a region of Chios). The conflicts are continued and the next days, are occupied Kampochora (villages of Chios) and the Agios Georgios Sykousis village. In the battle of Apos are killed Nikolao Ritsos and Ioannis Pastrikakis. For roughly 40 days the battles were continued and on 20 December a Turkish officer inform Delagrammatika that the Turks like to be abandoned. Zichny Bey signs the distribution of island in the next day, leaving tens of firearms, munitions and foods. From the 2044 captives, the seriously injured were transported in Tsesme of Turkey, while the remainderes in Peloponnese. The natives of Chios did not interfered the leaving Turks, by denoting their humanity.
